10k Road Race Series
Kendal Athletics Club is running a series of four 10k road races.
Kendal AAC are organising 3 10k road races in the picturesque villages around Kendal and a further 10k road race starting in Hawkshead. All four races are taking place on Wednesday evenings and all are in beautiful rural settings.
The Kendal 10k starts near the Kendal Leisure Centre and then travels through the villages of Natland and Sedgwick before taking a short loop and returning through Natland once more and finishing in Kendal and is a generally undulating course.
The Levens 10k starts in Levens Village and then moves out onto the flat plains of the Lyth Valley for about 4k before starting the climb up into Brigsteer and around the village before climbing once more through Brigsteer Woods and back to Levens.
Hawkshead 10k is set around Esthwaite Water and starts and finishes in Hawkshead and is an undulating course. It is hoped that a barbecue will be held in The Square at Hawkshead after the race and will be free to all race entrants. Friends and family are welcome to join us but we ask that they pay for their food which will be in the region of £2 to £2.50 per burger.
The village of Endmoor is the venue for the final 10k. The race climbs quite steeply for about 4k and then follows an undulating course before dropping back into Endmoor. It is hoped that all race entrants and their friends and families will join us at Endmoor Village Hall for light refreshments after the race.
There are prizes at each race for the first 3 men and first 3 women home, for MVs and FVs 40, 50 and 60 and the first male and female teams of 3 members.
